This course is voluntary and does not meet any specific regulatory or industry requirement. The Excavation Safety Training is intended for workers who are involved in hazardous construction activities when working with or around excavation. This course provides an overall understanding of excavation and its hazards, and details the general and specific requirements when excavating and trenching in accordance with OSHA construction regulations. This course includes topics such as defining types of cave-in protection, recognizing the general safety requirements to work at excavations, evaluating workers in danger, distinguishing soil types, and recognizing the role of an OSHA competent person.
