SITE SAFETY 62 HOUR SUPERVISOR
Who needs training?
Local Law 196 of 2017, requires Supervisors at job sites requiring a Construction Superintendent, Site Safety Coordinator or Site Safety Manager receive 62 hours of safety training by December 1, 2019. This only includes Site Safety Managers, Site Safety Coordinators, Concrete Safety Managers, Construction Superintendents and Competent Persons designated by Construction Superintendents.

Title of course: 30 Hours OSHA Training Course
Course Description: The OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. It is specifically designed for construction workers, safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors. Newly updated with OSHA’s latest requirements, the course provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.
Topics include but not limited to: The course covers the following OSHA required topics: An introduction to OSHA and OSHA regulations; general safety and health provisions; welding and cutting; fire protection; process safety management: (PSM); materials handling and storage; motor vehicles; excavations; concrete and masonry construction ; lead safety in the workplace; use of explosives in the workplace; as well as, cranes and rigging; scaffolds; stairways and ladders; health hazards, hazardous materials; hazard communications; electrical safety; power and hand tools; personal protective equipment; struck-by and caught in between procedures; fall prevention and protection and much more.
Intended Audience: This OSHA 30 Construction course will benefit all workers and management at a construction office or work site. This 30-Hour course is intended for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility.
Learning Objectives: OSHA 30-Hour Construction safety course trains workers and employers on recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. It includes information on workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint. This course gives you the specific steps and requirements you must meet to complete the online OSHA 30 Outreach training program.

Title of course: 8 Hour Fall Prevention
Course Description: In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law’). This course provides eight hours towards the satisfaction of that requirement.
Topics include but not limited to: All topics listed under Course Content Outline must be covered using the listed Instructional Delivery Method. The time dedicated to each outline topic should be appropriate for the course content and can vary depending on the trade or job performed by the trainee. The Instructional Delivery Materials used in this course must contain all current applicable NYC Construction Code references, current rules, policies, and bulletins.
Objectives: Trainees will learn how to on their own calculate fall distances for various types of fall arrest devices and decide on proper anchorage points.

Title of course: 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher / Chapter 33
Course Description: This course is a renewal requirement for the holder of a NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator Certificate. This course is also a required course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training Card.
Topics include but not limited to: All topics listed under Course Content Outline must be covered using the listed Instructional Delivery Method. The time dedicated to each outline topic should be appropriate for the course content and can vary depending on the trade or job performed by the trainee. The Instructional Delivery Materials used in this course must contain all current applicable NYC Construction Code references, current rules, policies and bulletins
Objectives: To renew a Site Safety Manager Certificate, the applicant must complete 8 hours of refresher training as mandated by Title 1 of the Rules of the City of New York § 104-06 Continuing Education Requirements. To renew a Site Safety Coordinator Certificate, the applicant must complete 8 hours of refresher training as mandated by Title 1 of the Rules of the City of New York § 104-06 Continuing Education Requirements. Course Description: This course is a requirement for an individual to use or work on a supported scaffold in New York City

Objectives: To use or work on a Supported Scaffold in New York City, an individual must successfully complete 4 Hours of User Training

Title of course: 8 Hour Prescribed (including 2 Hour Site Safety Plan (SSP), 2 Hour Drug & Alcohol Awareness, 2-Hour Pre-task Meeting, 2-Hour Toolbox Talks)
Course Description: This course is an elective course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training Card. THIS IS AN AWARENESS-LEVEL TRAINING ONLY and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the Site Safety Training Card.
Topics include but not limited to: All topics listed under Course Content Outline must be covered using the listed Instructional Delivery Method. The time dedicated to each outline topic should be appropriate for the course content and can vary depending on the trade or job performed by the trainee. The Instructional Delivery Materials used in this course must contain all current applicable NYC Construction Code references, current rules, policies and bulletins.
Objectives: Trainees will examine Site Safety Plans and find issues or topics for further inquiry for class discussion. Trainer may embed errors in the plans inconsistent with Code. Trainees will become generally familiar with adverse effects of drug and alcohol in the workplace. Trainees will be able to recognize problems associated with substance dependency. Hierarchy of Controls Game, where trainees practice using higher levels of hazard controls beyond personal protection equipment (Good, Better, Best Exercise). Group exercise where trainees will develop and present Mock Toolbox derived from Job Hazards A.

Title of course: 4 Hour Elective (1 Hour Electrocution Prevention, 1 Hour First Aid and CPR, 1-Hour Asbestos/Lead Awareness, 1 Hour Confined space)
Course Description: Trainees will create an electrical decision tree for electrical hazard controls for a predetermined task. From a Safety Data Sheet that the instructor provides, each trainee will demonstrate familiarity by finding various first-aid information. Trainees will create a hazardous material checklist. Instructor will guide trainees through tabletop Confined Space and Permit Required Confined Space scenarios.
