30-Hour Construction Safety & Health

COURSE REQUIRED:

In New York City, the 30-HR OSHA Training is required for individuals applying as a Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, and/or Superintendent based on the applicant’s qualifications. Additionally, this program is increasingly a primary requirement for supervisory staff on many construction contracts throughout NY, NJ, Rhode Island and Connecticut.

COURSE PRICE: $300.00

COURSE INTENDED:

This course intended for foreman, field supervisors, project management, and other personnel with safety responsibility affiliated with a construction firm or job site.

COURSE LENGTH: 30 hours not including breaks and lunch hour.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This program includes OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction safety and health principles. The training will place emphasis on those areas that are most hazardous, using OSHA standards as a guide. This program is more applicable for the construction supervisor, with a more intensified focus on various occupational safety and health standards. Course participants can expect to be able to locate and identify OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926; identify common causes of accidents and fatalities in hazardous areas of construction; recommend abatement techniques for such hazards; and recognize various construction processes, materials, and equipment.

COURSE AND ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Students must earn a 70% or more in their final exam and actively participate in all learning activities in order to successfully complete the course.

COURSE REQUIRMENT:

Students are required to complete 100% of the course and actively participate in all learning activities including hands-on demonstrations and the multiple choice and hands-on final exams. Students must obtain a score of 70% or higher on each to receive a certificate of completion and ID card from Valor Consulting.

Students who do not pass the written or hands-on exam will have an opportunity to retake the entire course at a reduced price of 50% of the original course fee. Students must contact Valor Consulting to schedule and pay for the retake class within 6 months following the original class date. After 6 months, students will be required to pay the full course fee.

Make-up time is not permitted for this training course. Should students miss any portions of the training, it is the student’s responsibility to contact Valor Consulting to arrange to attend another scheduled event.
