Course Description: Beginning January 1, 2009, a Concrete Safety Manager (CSM) must be designated on all major buildings during the concrete portion of the project. CSMs must have completed a 30-hour concrete safety manager course approved by the Buildings Department within the 5 years before registration.
Topics include but not limited to:
Pre-requisites: There are no prerequisites needed to attend this course however students must have a general knowledge of the NYC Building Codes. Individuals who are taking this course with the intent to apply for their NYC DOB Concrete Safety Manager license must meet certain requirements
Objectives: Upon completion of this course, the students will be able to but not limited to:
Course Materials: This course consists of several different components which include power point presentations, lecture, real life case studies, class discussion and hands on demonstration. We will provide a student manuals, Hands-on demonstration, and in-class practical exercises. Curriculum References: American Concrete Institute (ACI) Publications including ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.
